Day Two Hundred and Eighty Four

I think it's obvious from my confident clipping manner that those years I spent at horticultural college were not wasted...firstly there's 30 seconds of Ryan rightly showing off his skill with a skid loader, then an absolute master class in how to decimate a perfectly healthy evergreen shrub in less time than it takes to pour a pint.

The office move is Thursday 7th July.

Emily and I started to prepare today.

We have already started to receive mail at the new office.

This was one of the choice items in the post yesterday - little is good in the world of advertising, but at least they got the address correct.

This piece of slate was hidden behind a box and propped up against a wall when I found it this afternoon. It's final fate will be as my shopping list reminder in the kitchen, but until then I thought it could serve well as 'frame one' of the film of the office move - if, if we're that organised next week.

Day Two Hundred and Eighty Three

Busy, busy, busy.

My sister doesn't believe it.

I've got a sneaky feeling that a man called David Scott doesn't believe it either.

Well you two unbelievers, Emily silently made a video on Tuesday, which she graciously showed me last night of the weedy Englishman putting his puny shoulder to hard labour, (I would upload it right now but Emily's outside at the moment talking to her cousin) so later tonight or tomorrow the evidence that will clear my name will be online!.

But at least the Buttons and Bows song (which Emily and Janet had never heard of) made Kate laugh.

Here are the half bows.

An extra pole needs to be attached.

If you can't find the bloody exit in a building 700 feet squared, then your fate is bloody well sealed. But because we're nice people, we've given you a clue...

Planning the film installation.

The first film, made by a colleague of Emily's, is on its way from Berlin.

Repair nothing.

That's a good size; needs work, but not half bad.

Serious business this installation process.

Day Two Hundred and Eighty Two

The railing is a two part construction.

It's like buttons and bows.

This is the buttons, the bows are tomorrow.

Someone around here needs to point the way.

Day Two Hundred and Eighty One

Monday, shumnday.

I'm not one to rush a master craftsman - Tom has rebuilt this cottage from it's very non-existing foundation up and everything in between. This is a work of art. If it takes another year I would not complain.

The railing from Bainbridge Island, Washington, was being installed this afternoon.

Don't ask why we have two sets of the same crimping tool - one was expensive, the other was cheap.

The low filing cabinets were delivered.

The largest bathroom in the smallest cottage.

I love suspension.

More grading. It will end. It will.

Day Two Hundred and Seventy Eight

As the main man wrote, "A thing of beauty is a joy for ever".

The fresh planting soil was scattered - herbs or evergreens?

The deck was sanded - it gets a coat of yacht lacquer tomorrow.

The boxes started to open.

Tom says it will all be finished by Monday. Monday.

I wonder how many Hummers and Fiat 500's will roll up.
